Public-Private Collaboration Forum on Organic Livestock Farming. National Institute of Agricultural and Food Research and Technology. Madrid.

06 de Abril de 2017 00:00 - 00:00
Descripción

Recipients : Those interested in developments in the livestock sector, whether individuals or members of livestock organizations and associations.

Objective : To provide a space for dialogue between research teams from public centers, the business sector, and representatives of the sectors , with the ultimate goal of promoting collaboration and participation in joint projects and thus fostering research and technological innovation in the Spanish agri-food sector.

In this case, the conference focuses on the challenges and needs of "Organic Livestock Farming," and was organized with the participation of the "Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture" (SEAE) and researchers from the Agriecol Network (Research Network on Organic Agriculture, Livestock Farming, and Forestry).

As established in Community regulations (Council Regulation (EC) 834/2007), organic production methods play a dual social role, providing, on the one hand, organic products to a specific market that responds to consumer demand and, on the other, public goods that contribute to environmental protection, animal welfare, and rural development. The conference will address various aspects of this form of production (feeding, health, welfare, management, breeds, profitability, quality) in relation to different livestock species and in different Spanish geographical regions.

Registration is free. Due to limited capacity, please RSVP.

The following Forums will take place in the coming months:

  • Fertilization
  • Sustainability indicators in the agricultural sector
  • New alternative and sustainable raw materials in food
  • Innovation in rural development.
