The Good Agricultural and Environmental Practices (GAPs) that farmers must comply with in order to fully receive direct CAP aid, area payments, livestock charges, and certain POSEI program aid have been simplified and made more flexible. Thus, starting with the 2025 Single Application (and in some cases as early as the 2024 Single Application), a series of changes are included in the following GAPs, which are classified according to the environmental objective to be achieved.

The NRN podcast with Mª Ángeles Benítez Salas, Director of the European Commission Representation in Spain since 2021. A law graduate, since joining the European Commission she has worked in a wide variety of departments, from the Fisheries Directorate to foreign relations, institutional relations and transparency, and the European Political Strategy Centre, from where she moved to the European Commission's Agriculture and Rural Development Directorate. One of the areas of work of the RRN focuses on rural women and, in relation to this, different tools have been launched to detect the needs of women in rural areas, such as: interviews with territorial agents , a survey carried out on rural women and, finally, a Thematic Group "Rural Women 2022" , created in May 2022. This brochure details the activities to be launched, although in some cases already in the execution phase, by the RRN, as well as other areas of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA).

The project began in 2014, supporting extensive and transhumant livestock systems with profitable products. The rural world must seek out these niches and this natural capital to make the rural environment more profitable.
