  The National Rural Network has concluded the fifth and sixth editions of the Rural Entrepreneurship Course , which took place during June and July 2022. These training sessions aimed to strengthen the capacities of anyone interested in starting a sustainable business or activity in rural areas. The seventh edition of the entrepreneurship course will take place from September 13 to October 6.

The 45 students participating in each edition have had the opportunity to work with relevant professionals who have helped them develop their business plan and work on their personal brand.

Special mentions

Fifth edition

In the final days of the 5th Rural Entrepreneurship Course, all the students' projects were presented and discussed. Following evaluation by the course instructors, the following projects were selected as the most outstanding projects of the fifth edition :

  1. Agricultural Consulting – Antonio Asian Limones

A project focused on advising farmers on how to make their crops more profitable by supporting them in the transition from traditional to organic crops, crop care and needs, new crop proposals, ecological recommendations for combating pests and diseases, and crop monitoring with drones.

  1. Therapeutic Yoga – Juana Ibáñez Moreno

This is an agricultural, awareness, leisure, and tourism project focused on holistic health, where the individual interacts with the land and becomes aware of the importance of healthy eating. The client is involved as a participant in all field work and a series of educational activities.

  1. SSB24H – Manuel Marco Sánchez

This is a Company dedicated to services oriented to audits and consulting in computer security, creation of blockchain platforms, Artificial Intelligence and computer systems

They hold conferences, training sessions, and courses to educate people in rural Spain in these areas, as well as create coworking spaces and business incubators so young people can start their own businesses in these villages and avoid having to travel to the cities to work. A Rural Silicon Valley and a reference town for new technologies will also be established.

  1. Goat Farming and Goat Cheese – Alexia Lozano Molina

Alexia has an extensive herd of native goats in the Segovia part of the Guadarrama mountain range.

She transforms milk into various artisanal products, such as yogurt and cheese, and promotes their local sales. This project contributes to the maintenance of essential trades for society and culture.

Sixth edition

The following projects achieved excellence in the VI Rural Entrepreneurship Course:

  1. Rural Push – Eva de Arce Alonso

It is a multidisciplinary project that, using local resources, aims to generate activities by and for the people of the villages throughout the year. They are responsible for the planning, development, and monitoring of the projects.

Based on the phrase "think globally, act locally," their work focuses on the Ribera del Duero region of Burgos. They are currently seeking potential funding sources.

  1. Rural nutritionist – Maria Antonia Rodríguez González

This is a professional nutrition service located in several locations in eastern Asturias, specializing in rural areas. It offers home visits and online consultations.

With this ongoing project, she aims to improve people's quality of life and provide them with the right tools to achieve independence. In this way, Toñi integrates nutritional habits to promote health, placing a strong emphasis on nutritional education so that these habits are internalized and maintained over time.

  1. Growing mushrooms to sow the future – Jordina Amat Sánchez

Bolets Peratxa will sustainably cultivate mycelium to obtain organic mushrooms in Organyà, a village in the Catalan Pyrenees where Jordina and her family are originally from. The project will thus serve to boost the local economy in the region.

Furthermore, Bolets Peratxa aims to spread the word about the importance of fungi in ecosystems and their valuable role as the basis of a healthy and environmentally friendly diet.

  1. Yoga Room. The Spiral – Yolanda Pozo Porras

Yoga en/clave rural , located in Espinosa de los Monteros (Burgos), is a wellness space where health is restored through techniques that make clients feel good inside and out.

At her center, Yolanda Pozo aims to share the benefits of several ancestral techniques. To this end, she offers personalized attention and various activities focused on personal care and connection with one's surroundings (yoga, Ayurvedic workshops, conscious nutrition, natural cosmetics, massages, meditation, ethnobotanical trails, etc.) to achieve a healthy, fit body, emotionally balanced, disconnected from stress, and connected to oneself.
