The Ministry of Culture and Sport , through the platform Last February, Emprendoteca.es launched the #EmprendoRoute call , a new program to promote and incubate cultural projects in rural areas aimed at discovering and mentoring initiatives that can then be developed to foster the creative industry in rural areas.
Following the call for applications, “#EmprendoRoute” has just published the 12 selected projects that will be part of the development of the program in the coming weeks, more specifically from April 5 to June 9, 2023. Thus, these 12 selected will receive 20 hours of training with specialized professionals during this period, in addition to networking events, support from coordinators and support through the Emprendoteca.es platform .
Selected projects
102 initiatives from all over Spain were submitted to the call, of which the following 12 were selected:
- La Barraca de Cine . Patricia De Luna (touring through rural areas of the Peninsula) : indoor and outdoor mobile cinema space with accessible audiovisual content, events, and cultural activities.
- Nomadic Portrait . Eli Garmendia and Carlos Pericás (Roaming through national rural territories) : creation of photographic archives of contemporary portraits and digitization of historical photographic heritage.
- Teatrisso Café Teatro . Laura López San Pedro (Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, La Rioja) : Theatre, musicals, film, and comedy shows in a café-theatre style, recalling the spirit of the 1920s and 1930s.
- VikiLab . Santiago Garrido Rua (Rural Territories of Catalonia) : educational content in the form of books, videos, and other teaching materials for children and adults interested in learning more about the STEAM education model.
- Bicho Raro Publishing House . Borja Chacón Honorato (Cañadas de Haches de Abajo Village, Albacete) : design, illustration, creation, and mythological and ethnographic compilation of his area.
- Rural Pop-Ups Perspectives . Marisa Iturbide and Amaia Valdemoros (Artajona, Navarra): proposes a temporary physical and virtual exhibition and marketing format bringing together rural producers and creators from the municipalities along the Camino de la Vera Cruz.
- Learn flamenco guitar . Pedro José Vázquez Martín (Galaroza, Huelva) : Packaged flamenco guitar courses in English, personalized flamenco guitar lessons, and on-site learning experiences.
- South Cape . José Miguel Pérez Alcázar (Arguineguín, Las Palmas) : development, production, post-production, and distribution of socially-oriented films.
- News on time . María Sonsoles Fiallegas Rebollo (Peñaranda de Bracamonte, Salamanca) : this would be the first completely independent digital newspaper in its region.
- Cultiv-arte . Blanca Rodriguez de Azero Tabares (Canary Islands) : a project that creates a connection through arts and culture with the primary sector.
- The Little Foxes Club . Vanessa María Mato Pose (Vilalba, Lugo) : language immersion in a rural setting designed for children to learn English while growing plants, playing with farm animals, and having fun baking bread.
- We Love Reuse . Marcela Palmisiano (Menorca, Balearic Islands) : a reuse platform to raise awareness about responsible consumption and environmental conservation.
By the end of the program, each project will have established a business model and will be able to communicate their idea through a sales strategy.
