The European Union selects 24 finalists for the "European Eco Awards"

The European Commission (EC) has set a target of 25% of agricultural land in the European Union (EU) being under organic farming by 2030. Increasing organic production plays a key role in achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal , the Farm to Fork Strategy and the Biodiversity Strategy .

To contribute to this significant increase in organic farming, the European Union has launched the " European EcoAwards " for the first time this year . These awards annually recognize excellence in the organic value chain. Their goal is to reward innovation in this sector so that their practices contribute to reducing the impact of agriculture on the environment and the climate.

The EU Green Awards comprise eight prizes in seven different categories . The awards ceremony will take place in Brussels on September 23, 2022 , as part of the events planned to commemorate EU Green Day.
