In its eighth edition, the honorees received their awards from Minister Isabel García Tejerina and Esperanza Orellana, Director General of Rural Development and Forestry Policy, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Environment, and Food on October 19.

As previously announced on our website , the winners of the 8th edition of the Excellence Awards for Innovation for Rural Women 2017 were Judith Naves Morán for her ASTURsabor project , Maite Sánchez Hernández for her Domiña project, and Grupo Promotor Salmantino SA for its Gaceta de Salamanca Magazine . The Extraordinary Award for Innovation for Rural Women went to Ganaderas en Red .

In addition, two honorable mentions were given, one to Lourdes Zuriaga and the other to the program Agrosfera, for their work in promoting agricultural and agri-food activities over the past 20 years.

MAPAMA has been presenting these awards since its first edition in 2010, as a means of promoting outstanding projects developed by rural women. The awards aim to give visibility to original and innovative projects by rural women based on agricultural, agri-food, and diversification activities. The awards also aim to highlight women's rural entrepreneurship as a driver of regional development.
