The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA ) opens today, Tuesday, July 26, the application period for stays for young people on agricultural and livestock farms included in the CULTIVA 2022 program. The CULTIVA Program is aimed at young people who joined the agricultural sector for the first time as farm managers on or after January 1, 2017, and who were under 41 years of age at the time of their first installation.
Catalog
A total of 491 internships are offered at 192 model farms through the internship catalog , which is published HERE . Along with the catalog, a internship search engine is also available, allowing you to select internships based on location, dates, and agricultural production.
Young people can apply for up to 10 different training placements at model host farms with the same or different production as their own, provided that the farms are in the same agricultural or livestock sector as their own, and that they are located, as a general rule, in a different autonomous community from the one in which the young people carry out their own activity.
Deadlines
The application period, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food's Online Office , will be open from July 26 to August 16 (15 business days), inclusive. The training placements will begin in October of this year and will run until June 30, 2023.
Stays
The internships offered are organized by the Program's collaborating entities: the Young Farmers' Association (ASAJA), the Spanish Agri-Food Cooperatives, the Union of Cooperatives, the Union of Farmers and Ranchers, the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA), and the Union of Family Agricultural Schools (UNEFA).
The model host farms where the training placements will take place are spread across 15 autonomous communities—the Autonomous Community of Navarre and the Canary Islands being the exception—and stand out for being benchmarks in terms of innovation, production resources, business models, and social, environmental, and climatic characteristics.
When assigning places on the training programs, priority will be given to the most recently established young people, female farmers and ranchers, and those who have not participated in previous editions of the program.
Living expenses
The youth's accommodation, food, and transportation expenses resulting from their participation in the training placements are covered by the CULTIVA Program. In addition, youth may be eligible for compensation for the costs of having their farm replaced by a third party during their absence due to their participation in the training placement.
All information about the 2021 CULTIVA Program can be found in the Rural Youth section of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food website.
