The event was structured around three experience panels. The first focused on business settlements in rural areas to promote rural development ; a second on governance in rural areas as a driving force for population settlement ; and finally, a third on methods to promote innovation in rural areas. The objective was to debate and reflect on the challenges that must be addressed to promote the economic development of our country's rural areas. The debate fundamentally focused on the need to implement measures and policies to combat depopulation , both to attract and settle population, and the importance of creating equal conditions and opportunities in rural areas that put them on a par with urban areas.

At the conclusion of the discussions held at each panel, it was concluded that a model is needed that incorporates measures to improve the well-being of those living in rural areas and that reduces the gap between rural and urban areas . To achieve this, it is essential to create and promote a robust infrastructure and telecommunications network. Finally, the need for strategies that promote the coordination of administrative actions and the implementation of more specific cross-cutting policies adapted to the uniqueness of each region was highlighted.

The event, organized on November 29 by the National Rural Network at the request of the Rural Development and Fisheries Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) , generated great interest and was well attended.
